FCE FINISH TUTORIAL
In this tutorial we will learn that how to set light dummies for
the car. How to set normals of the car and how to edit parts of the
car.

Adjusting Normals of the car:
Ok now when you have done the Zmodeler.. U know that we saved all
the data in .z3d format. But NFS uses .FCE format for the car.
Open Zmodeler and then open ur car.
In File menu above... select to import the car in FCE format. like
this...
...
In Save as box..select the "NFS 4 FCE files (*.fce)" .

Select "Need For Speed 4" and next dialog box.
Click "Yes" on next dialog box.
Save the file....
Now Open FCE Finish.
Open the FCE file u just saved.
U will get an error that " Texture Not Found". Cancel It.
Again an error.. "Surface smoothing data are damaged or not
loaded".
Do not be afraid... we are just going to repair this error.
You see the car like this.....

Move to Surface Editor....by pressing the button.

Press "OK" on the dialog box....
Now select the front bumper of car by click and dragging mouse on
it. It will turn cyan.

Now after this selection.... press the "NEW" button in Group
Section.
. The color will
turn green and "Group1" will appear below "Base".
Select Base again and deselect all selected faces.
You will see that the bumper shine has changed and now u can
distinguish it.
After adjusting all the normals... the car will look like
this....

Centering Car in FCE Finish:
After you have done normals.....If u see that car is not rounding
from center then center it in FCE Finish...
Go to Parts Area...
Select :HB. (Make Sure that "Hide Windows" from file menu is
checked)

In the above image... you can see 3 bars with values and :HB
above them.
Click in 1st bar having value -0.138 (It may be different in your
one) and set it to 0.0000.
Do the same with other two bars.... You will see like this.
You can see 10 button at the bottom. "X" "Y" "Z" "a wheel"
"dimension" and the lower bar... "X" "Y" "Z" "a wheel" and "target
like button".
After adjusting the values to 0.000, press that target like
button at bottom to center axis according to the model :HB.
Now do the same with wheels. Do not set their value to 0.000 but
the value so that they come at their proper place.... (The Car is
Centered).
Alternative Method:
If u do not know that which value the wheels have got to get
their proper place.. then press X, Y and Z on upper bar.
- Select any wheel except :HB. (as it is already set to 0.00)
- Move the wheel in the wheel gap using right and left clicks
and drags.
- Left click for X and Y Motion.
- Right Click for Z axis Motion.
Note: Above Bar is to adjust Parts and Lower Bar is to adjust
Axis
